Bringin It Back

So I'm gonna start posting now that I feel like I have less free time than I did when I started this blog.

So I just went to the Big10 Tournament, shout out to Jay Reid for getting me the free tix. Evan Turner is a monster, I picked Ohio State to go far this year; big athletic dudes. Indianapolis was a really sweet city and Lucas Oil Stadium is enormous. Conseco Fieldhouse was really really nice; it's going to be a great place to host the final four this year. I had B-dubs twice while I was in Indy. Zak Kurtz came along; we had a great time. Everything is walking distance in Indy; I really liked that aspect.

Saw Alice in Wonderland over spring break with Hannah. I enjoyed it but Hannah did not. The 3d made it really awesome. It added a lot of texture and depth to the movie. I hope the studios pursue this technology.

Onto March Madness. Unfortunately the Hokies didn't make it; but you can't expect to make it when you are on the bubble and you lose to Miami while having one of the weakest schedules in college basketball. Maybe Greenberg will think twice before scheduling UGA and instead should consider Tennessee, a closer and more perennial powerhouse. I would love to spark up a Tennessee game every year. And hey, what happened to WVU? Why can't we jaunt up to Morgantown or host them? That'd be aweosme. Same with Georgetown. I mean theses schools are really close and we're just avoiding them. I think even if you lose to them but still kick it in the rest of the season it really helps (see Georgia Tech (2010), finishing 22-10 with a 7-9 conference record but having a top 20 schedule). I mean, Michigan State traveled to UF and UNC this year; games that Izzo knows he has to schedule. He lost both but it bolstered the team's credibility - perhaps they could have won them, helping them even more.

Onto the Hawks. Wow, what a great team. I mean they are really something. They might even get a 50 win season. I just love the NBA. I saw that Reggie Miller vs. the Knicks show the other night and it got me so pumped up for the playoffs.

Well that's all for now; I'll try to be funnier in the future. Nothin really happenin right now.

The Cone of Silence

I apologize for not updating in such a while.

So the Lakers lost in the finals. I am really happy for the players on the Celtics, I just wish they all did it for a different team. I hate that we're seeing a glory decade for boston sports. ew. I do have a Kobe jersey now and it is the tits. It's a swingman.

I am really really looking forward to the Hawks season next year. I think they will get the 5 seed in the East Playoffs.

I saw Get Smart. Great movie. You definitely will get your money's worth. Also, I would like to endorse "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

I had a good weekend. Josh Rubin's dad and turd brother were in town. One time, Josh's dad came downstairs in his underwear. It was hilarious.

**New Section** Hate and Like with Mike

I had a pretty good weekend. People came to visit me and we had a lot of fun. I went tubing in the New River again but it was a little chillier than last time. I saw people smoking cigarettes while they were in their tubes and I was thinking that they were probably just going to flick the butt into the water. I know it is presumptuous of me without actually seeing the people dispose of it. But this makes me sick, I do not want to float by cigarette butts while trying to enjoy nature for an hour. That really gripes me.

Foam soap is great. You can get it at Bath and Body Works. It comes in a hand pump bottle. It is far superior to bar soap because A. No one else has used it, B. If you want to wash your hands right after someone else, it's not already wet and a mess on the soapdish, and C. it does not take nearly as long to get a decent lather. It is superior to liquid soap as well because it is not as drippy and you do not have to worry about getting some up on that top part of the sink, you know, where the water does not touch. That is what I really like.

Thanks for reading! More posts to come soon!

Mad Dog Tannon

Hello from Blacksburg!

Hank Steinbrenner is officially the largest turd in the world. Steinbrenner thinks that the DH has been around since the 1800's, due to this incident. I mean, he thinks the NL is to blame? I think it's such garbage that he thinks pitchers should not have to hit and run the bases. The AL is a wussy league.

Congrats to Tiger on his 14th Major. I think that was one of the greatest finishes I've ever seen in a sport.

My Kobe Bryant jersey should be here today. I have to take Josh Rubin to work though at 1 and I really hope that it doesn't come while I'm taking him. That would be the worst. I'm going to leave a post it note on the door in case the FedEx guy/girl comes.

The Mets organization is hilarious right now. Who fires someone at midnight on a road trip? Real classy Mets.

That's all for now, more to come later today after my jersey comes.

Paper Planes

So I just want it to be known that there isn't anyone on this Celtics team that I hate.  The reason I'm rooting against Boston is because I dislike the fan base and all of Boston sports.  I also do not like New York sports.  I did like the Giants over the Patriots in the Super Bowl for those who were wondering.  I like Garnett, Allen, Pierce is kind of a bitch tho.  Anyways, it's not the players, it's everything that surrounds the Celtics.

I think the Lakers will win the title.  Stranger things have happened.

Ok everyone should listen to Paper Planes by MIA.  It's also featured in the Pineapple Express Trailer.

Coca-Cola

I was at Dairy Queen the other day looking for a mid-day snack.  I felt kind of bad going up to the counter to have them make me something because it definitely did not look like they wanted to be there.  Anyways, I ordered a chili cheese dog and the cashier asks me, "Is that with chili and cheese only?"  FOR REAL???  What is this?  No I want a chili cheese dog but with peppers and gravy only.

So I noticed Coca-Cola has come out with new bottle caps that use less plastic.  I think that's awesome and a great example of resource conservation.  Chermak would be proud.

I bought a candle from Target that's mango scented but it doesn't smell when I light it.

I made s'mores the other night at a lake house.  I'm really glad that I saw the Sandlot.

I'M GOING WITH JERK STORE!!!  JERK STORE IS THE LINE!!!  JERK STORE!!!

So Kobe put up 36 last night.  That's unreal.  I mean, this guy does it all.  The ball just pops out of his hands like it's on a spring and finds the basket.  He only missed 5 shots all night, 1 was a 3-pointer.  Watching him is too much to handle sometimes.  I'm also having a hard time dealing with it being the finals.  I mean every little thing matters.  There is so much pressure on these guys.   How do they handle it?  It's way too much to handle sometimes.  I have to avert my eyes or walk away from the tv as if I've found the lost ark.  Every pass and every shot is so important.  I like the way the triangle offense is run.  If you can move the ball quickly it can be so effective.  Jackson loves the triangle.

Does Surry Ring a Bell?

Over the weekend Hannah and I did some east coast VA stuff like Busch Gardens, Norfolk, and the famous Virginia Diner.  Although it took us quite a while to find this diner, we got so lost that we were eventually 15 minutes from Michael Vick's dogfighting house.  No joke.  If we had made a right in downtown Surry and then a left on this other road we would have been right there.  Unreal, wish I had known I was near it before I got lost.  It's actually an anomaly, like the Matrix, that he got caught.  The houses are so remote from each other out there.

Anyways so I am starting to play basketball a little bit.  I really like it now that I understand the game and the positions and stuff.  I kind of think of myself as a pure shooter, like Ray Allen only not as good.  I pick and pop, or roll, whatever I feel like.  I like to set up and shoot, or pull up.  I don't drive to the basket only because my ball handling skills aren't that great.  I try to get open with screens and stuff.  I balled this 9 year old back in Richmond over the weekend at my girlfriend's pool.  I schooled him bad.  He went running back to the pool to go swim in the shallow end.  I was pulling up from everywhere and lay ups never seemed so easy.  It felt great.

So the kid that's living with me for right now bought a pair of these Lebron James shoes, but he's way too afraid to wear them.  He brought them out for about an hour the other day and then put them back in the box because he was afraid to wear them in the grass.  The shoes are tight though, they say King on one of them and James on the other.

One last thing, I gotta talk about these Padres camo uniforms.  I mean, who are they kidding?  Are they trying to hide from someone?  What's next?  Cotton uniforms like in Seinfeld?  It's not even like San Diego is a "southern" city where many residents would be wearing camo as their daily clothing.  I think they are the ugliest uniform in the major leagues.

What It's Like to Watch Rajon Rondo

This is what it's like for me to watch Rondo play.  The older gent is Doc Rivers to me.  The kid has even taken a lesson on fake injuries from Paul Pierce.  Video
